Year 4's Visit to London

Thursday 18th - Saturday 20th April 2024

Year 4 will be travelling to London in April.  Below is an outline of some of the things they could get up to.

 

Thursday 18th April

  • 7.15am- Arrive at Bidston Avenue
  • 7.30am Leave BAPS 
  • Train to London
  • Arrive in London
  • Lunch
  • River Cruise along the Thames
  • Visit the Houses of Parliament
  • Visit the London Eye
  • Dinner 
  • Take Tube to HMS Belfast for night
  

Friday 19th April

  • 8am- Breakfast
  • 9am- HMS Belfast workshop
  • Self-guided tour of HMS Belfast
  • Visit Tower Bridge
  • Lunch
  • Visit Tower of London
  • Dinner
  • Watch theatre show
  • Return to HMS Belfast

 

 

  

Saturday 10th April

  • 8am- Breakfast on board HMS Belfast
  • Visit Downing Street
  • Lunch in St. James Park
  • Visit Westminster Abbey
  • Return to London Euston
  • Dinner
  • Train to Liverpool
  • 7.30pm- Arrive back at BAPS

Luggage and Essential Items

  • Please pack with your child so that they know what is in their bag and label all items of clothing.

  • Luggage cases should be as small as possible (no larger than a cabin-size suitcase), which children must be able to carry themselves. 

  • Children need to have a comfortable backpack to use throughout our visit. 

  • Trainers/sensible shoes must be worn.

  • Do not bring sweets, mobile phones, electronic devices, torches or cameras (disposable cameras are allowed), as these are not needed.  Staff will take plenty of photos and will share these on the school's social media channels. 

Required luggage items:

  • Sleeping bag

  • Pillow case

  • Towel and minimal toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, hairbrush etc.

  • Backpack

  • Water bottle – to be filled throughout the day

  • Waterproof jacket (to fit in backpack)

  • Packed lunch from home, on Thursday (to fit in backpack also)

  • A book to read on the train/before bed

  • Sun protection lotion and a sun hat

Highlights From Year 4's Visit to London 2024

In April 2024, Year 4 visited London for an action-packed three days.  From visiting the Houses of Parliament, cruising down the River Thames, seeing the crown jewels in the Tower of London to watching The Lion King!  Yet again, lots of great memories were made!

In June 2023, Year 4 visited London for an action-packed three days. From visiting the Houses of Parliament, cruising down the River Thames, seeing the crown jewels in the Tower of London, to watching the King's Birthday Parade- Colonel's Review. Lots of great memories were made!
